Officials claimed China has been impressed by the rapid economic development of Bihar and has shown keen interest in making investments there.
After Bhutan and Mauritius, chief minister Nitish Kumar would undertake a four-day 'goodwill' tour to China from June 12.
"I shall be heading a six-member delegation to China and the details are being worked out and finalised by the external affairs ministry," Kumar said at a press conference on the sidelines of his Janata Darbar programme.
State water resource minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, tourism minister Sunil Kumar Pintoo, development commissioner KC Saha, besides the chief minister's secretaries would be accompanying Kumar during the trip.
"I will go to Beijing and Sanghai," Kumar said.
Officials claimed China has been impressed by the rapid economic development of Bihar and has shown keen interest in making investments there.
During his visit to Bihar in January, Chinese ambassador to India Zhang Yan had praised Kumar for his efforts and announced cooperation to Bihar in developing agriculture and industrial infrastructure in the state.
"As 2011 is the 'Year of China-India Exchange', China will seize this opportunity to enhance cooperation with Bihar in various areas, including agriculture, culture and education and join the efforts to develop the reconstruction of Nalanda University," the Chinese envoy had said.
The consul general of China at Kolkata Zhang Lizhong too was expected to lead a Chinese delegation to Bihar to boost trade and industrial tie-ups.
Last month, the chief minister had gone on week-long tour to Bhutan to generate goodwill between the two countries and also to hold "power-sharing talks".
