Nitish announces Rs 10 lakh compensation for lawyer's family

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the next of kin of additional public prosecutor (APP) Dev Narayan Mishra, who was gunned down by unidentified persons in Araria town today.
     
Since the APP was on official duty his family members were entitled for the compensation amount, Kumar told reporters here.

Mishra (72) was gunned down by two motorcycle-borne men near Ashram Chowk here around 10 am when he was on way to court.

Mishra was supposed to present the government's side in a case, superintendent of Police Avdhesh Kumar Sharma said.
