BJP president Nitin Gadkari has deputed a committee comprising party secretaries Navjot Singh Sidhu and Captain Abhimanyu to visit flood affected areas in Punjab and take stock of the situation.
"This two-member committee, along with respective state leaders, will be going into the preliminary review of the losses caused by the devastating flash floods in Punjab & Haryana," the party said in a statement.
The committee will be visiting the affected areas on July 11 and 12 and later submit its report to the party leadership, BJP said.
Gadkari, a management graduate, had sent a five-member team to Andhra Pradesh during the recent riots in Hyderabad and another team to Manipur during the economic blockade.
A team will be formed soon to visit Kerala to look into the incident of a teacher's hand being cut for putting a question in the exam paper which was allegedly derogatory to Prophet Mohammed.
