Nine people die in Orissa accident

At least nine people, including five women, were killed and seven others injured today when a jeep collided with a loaded truck in Orissa's Koraput district.

The mishap took place near Doliamba, about 30 km from here, when the jeep carrying the victims was on its way from Renga to Semiliguda, the police said.

While seven people died on the spot, two others died of their injuries at a hospital here, they said.
   
The injured were undergoing treatment at the district headquarters hospital here.
   
The condition of some of the injured was stated to be critical, the police said.
