Newly married woman killed by in-laws

A 25-year-old newly-wed woman was allegedly tortured and beaten to death by her husband and in-laws over dowry in the Kamuruddin Nagar village here, police said on Friday.

Afsana was killed yesterday by her husband Zahid and in-laws, who beat her with sticks and later strangulated her, they said.

A case has been lodged by victim's father, Zameer Ahmad, who alleged that his daughter was killed as he failed to meet dowry demand of Rs1lakh.
