New bio-tech policy for Bihar in offing

Bihar's NDA government has decided to formulate a new bio-technology policy to help develop agriculture and livestock resources of the state, deputy chief minister SK Modi said today.
       
Modi said assistance of experts and technical institutions would be taken to formulate the policy and the state government would create fund for bio-technology and open state of the art instituions in the field.

He said the policy would help develop agriculture and livestock resources of the state.
        
Modi said bio-technology would have a great role to play in blazing the second green revolution and meet the aim of food security.
       
The platform for this revolution has to be set up in Bihar and adjoining states of eastern Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Assam, he said adding the state government was working towards making available good quality seeds and livestock species to boost agriculture and milk produce.
