An alleged aide of an ISI agent was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad from Barabanki district, a senior police officer said today.
Wasim alias Khaboo, a Nepalese citizen and an aide of an ISI agent, was arrested by the ATS from Barabanki railway station when he was about to board a train last evening, ADG Brij Lal said.
Fake Indian currency worth Rs10,000 and a diary containing mobile numbers in Pakistan and Nepal was recovered from his possession, he said.
Wasim is an aide of Nepal-based ISI agent Parvez Tanda, who had been killed, he said.
In 2008, Wasim facilitated the entry of another ISI agent Sikender alias Jabbar in India, though he was immediately arrested by the ATS, Lal added.
