A woman died allegedly due to negligence of a railway official after she fell off from a train, General Railway Police (GRP) said today.

Anu Chauhan was travelling with her husband RPS Chauhan, an advocate, from Allahabad to Delhi in Prayag Raj train yesterday when the incident occurred.

Anu was standing near a gate of a compartment when she accidentally fell from the moving train.

When the train stopped at Ghaziabad railway station, her husband sought help of a station master to inform the Chola Railway station to provide medical aid to his wife. But the station master refused him any help.

Chauhan then told sub-inspector Gajender Singh about the whole matter. However, the station master even refused to follow the orders of the sub-inspector following which the GRP asked the Aligarh Railway Station to intervene.

When the woman was brought to Ghaziabad it was noon. Anu later died for want of medical help.

The matter has been referred to the railway ministry as Chauhan has charged the Station Master with negligence and insensitivity towards his wife.
