NCP provides housing material to Canacona flood victims

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has provided relief material to flood-hit victims in Canacona taluk, minister Fransisco Pacheco of NCP has said. He said that the party has disbursed material required for building houses. The floods have affected the taluk last weekend.

"We have covered 350 houses which are given rice, sugar, tea powder and edible oil," Pacheco said. NCP leaders including state unit chief Carmo Pegado were camping at Canacona last week to disburse the relief material. Pacheco said that party's priority is to provide essential things to the flood victims.

"The party will contribute material to construct houses to the victims," Pacheco said. About 100 houses were collapsed and 400 houses partially damaged in Canacona taluk due to the floods.

Other political parties including Congress and BJP have also contributed for the flood relief through its cadres who are working to console the flood victims.
