The ruling National Conference today asked its coalition partner Congress party to iron out internal differences which was having a "bad impact" on the functioning of Omar Abdullah-led Jammu and Kashmir government.

"I appeal to the Congress to set aside their personal conflicts and differences and for the sake of people's aspirations let Omar Abdullah complete his mission," NC Additional General Secretary and chief spokesman Mustafa Kamal told a party convention in south Kashmir's Kulgam district.

"The differences within the Congress party are having a bad impact on the functioning of the government," he said.

Recently, a senior Congress minister, Taj Mohiuudin, came out in open support for a six-year term for Omar and rejected any possibility of having a rotation in the power centre.

A faction of the state Congress, which has been vying for rotational Chief Ministership, hit back at Mohiuddin terming his statement in favour of Omar as "irresponsible utterances".

Kamal recently created a political storm in the state when he pointed "finger of suspicion" towards the Army alleging the forces could be behind the multiple attacks in the valley last week in which three CRPF personnel and one policeman were injured.

The National Conference leader had also criticised the Pradesh Congress Committee chief Saif-ud-din Soz over his remarks that Omar had not consulted his coalition partner before announcing the plan to revoke AFSPA from parts of the state.
