Around 20 naxalites reached Puswada village and attacked the duo--Marvi Bhima and Marvi Channa last night branding them as police informers, Dantewada SP Amresh Mishra said.

The Maoists then took both of them to a village crossroad and slit their throats using sharp weapons, he said.

The naxals fled the scene after the incident and villagers informed the nearby police station at Kankerlanka, Mishra said, following which a team was sent to Puswada.
