In a rare coincidence, chief minister Narendra Modi visited spiritual guru, Swami Dharmabandhu, a few days back, hours after the newly-appointed chairman of Ishrat SIT, Satyapal Singh, visited the holy man for some reason.

Modi visited Swami Dharmabandhu after visiting the agriculture fair in Una area of Saurashtra. Talking to DNA on phone from Praasla in Rajkot, Swami Dharmabandhu said Modi had visited the teacher's training programme in the area on an official visit.

Talking about Singh's visit, the holy man said his visit was for spiritual purposes. "He visited me for some spiritual reasons," he said. But Swami Dharmabandhu emphasised that there was no connection between Modi's visit and that of Singh.

Singh is reported to have taken charge as chief of Ishrat SIT a few days back. This, however, could not be confirmed from official sources. Singh has replaced Delhi police officer, Karnal Singh, as the chairman of the investigating team appointed by the Gujarat high court to investigate the Ishrat Jahan encounter case.
