Mukesh Ambani donates Rs5 crore to Tirumala temple

RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani tonight donated Rs5 crore to the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala near here.

Temple sources told PTI the donation was made to meet the TTD's ongoing Rs100 crore gold plating project for the sanctum sanctorum.

The cheque was handed over to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) chairman DK  Adikesavulu Naidu by a RIL official.

Ambani, an ardent devotee of Lord Venkateswara, had earlier donated a Rs five crore guest house constructed by RIL on the hills in 2007.
