The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has organised a two-day national conclave of vice chancellors of universities at the Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (Yashada) from Friday.

The meet will deliberate on the unique challenges faced by health universities and the role universities can play to help the Centre and the Medical Council of India  to achieve their mission.

MUHS vice chancellor (VC) Dr Arun Jamkar said, “We would be presenting a cohesive roadmap for the future of medical education that is feasible and can be implemented. It will help in enabling the medical graduates to not only meet the country’s needs but also have satisfying careers.”

This is the first national conclave of all VCs of health sciences universities in India, he said. The state medical education minister, Vijaykumar Gavit, would be the chief guest and inaugurate the event.
