More GK, less design in NID test

DNA Correspondents many as 5,100 students took the entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Design (NIDOf the total, 752 students took the test at the LD College of Engineering.

Registrar at the NID said the exam went smoothly and no incident of cheating or mismanagement was registered during the exam. When DNA spoke to the students at the exam centre in Ahmedabad, they said the 100 marks paper was without any blooper but it did surprise them.

A student said that she was surprised to see more number of general knowledge questions and less drawing related questions in the paper. "Questions like "What is the cost of an 80-gram Maggie packet?" were asked. It was interesting to see such questions as the paper only had three questions from drawing and sketch background," she said.

Students from Vadodara, Godhra, Gandhinagar and different areas thronged the exam centre. Another student said she had expected some mathematic questions but didn't find any. "The sample paper did have all kinds of questions, however, in today's paper it was the general knowledge category that dominated the rest," she said.
