Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, condoled the death of Governor-designate for the state DN Dwivedi saying that he was a constitutional expert and a simple man.

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi today, condoled the death of Governor-designate for the state DN Dwivedi and said he was a constitutional expert and a simple man.
    
"I am deeply shocked by the sad demise of DN Dwivedi. The state government had made preparations to welcome him as Governor and was looking forward to work with the constitutional expert," said Modi, who had known the veteran Congressman for last 15 years.
    
Gujarat Assembly Speaker, Ashok Bhatt will travel to Delhi along with Urban development minister, Nitin Patel to attend Dwivedi's last rites. Dwivedi, who was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi on July 23 due to liver problems, died early this morning. He was 74.
    
Dwivedi was to succeed Nawal Kishore Sharma, whose five-year-term got over on July 24. However, he could not take charge due to health problems and Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir was given the additional charge of Gujarat.
