Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi today addressed people of the state via video conferencing after resuming his official work following recovery from swine flu.

During his address, Modi asked people to work relentlessely to make Gujarat poverty free.

One should not get complacent with the progress the state has made in recent years, he said.

The BJP leader said that 2010 is the golden jubilee year for Gujarat and the state government has already started making plans for a grand celebration.

Each citizen of the state should take a pledge to contribute something for development and progress of the state and its people, he added.

According to him, Gujarat has become a guiding force and it has to provide direction to the country for its bright future and well being of its citizens.

The state government authorities had arranged over 20,000 internet connectivity centres where people had gathered to listen to the CM's speech, his first address after Diwali.
