Miscreants throw petrol bomb in Bhopal, 1 hurt

Three motorcycle-borne youths today hurled a petrol bomb and fired at a laundry owner on the busy Church Road, leading to tension and road blockade in the area under Jehangirabad police station.

Two brothers, Peter and James, and their nephew, hurled a petrol bomb and fired three rounds at the laundry-owner Abdul Rehman, who sustained injury to the hand, police said. They had an old dispute with him.

Some clothes in the shop caught fire. After this, locals blocked road, threw stones at the residence of the accused, and demanded stern action against them.

Locals also complained that lawlessness in the area was increasing.

Police used some force to disperse the mob after stone-pelting.

The three accused fled from the spot and a search is on to nab them, Jehangirabad police station in-charge, PN Goyal, said.

He said that attempt to murder case has been registered against them.

Situation in the area is under control, he said, adding that additional force has been deployed.
