Minor girl raped, murdered in Uttar Pradesh

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in Bisala area of the district, police said today.

The girl went missing on Tuesday evening and after extensive search by the villagers, her body was found in a field yesterday, the police said.

Villagers sat on dharna with the body and did not allow the police to carry out the its formalities, the police added.

However, they were persuaded later by the authorities, they added.

The body has been sent for post mortem and hunt for the culprit is on, the police said.
