Mentally challenged man axes mother

In a gruesome incident, a son killed his mother in Sonebhadra district on Sunday evening.

According to police, the incident took place at Kaithi village under Robertsganj police station in Sonebhadra district on Sunday, when mentally challenged Jagarnath (35) killed his mother, Sukhwanti (55) after his treatment was stopped due to financial crisis.

It was stated that Jagarnath quarrelled with his mother on some issue in the morning and later attacked her with an axe. Sukhwanti died on the spot while Jagarnath managed to escape.

Police arrested him in the night and the entire village was shocked after they learnt about the incident.
