Mehsana to host Narendra Modi’s 20th fast

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will observe Sadbhavna fast at Mehsana on Tuesday, the 20th in his series of one-day fast missions in all districts in the state. The district administration has completed all preparations for the one-day event.

Mehsana district collector Rajkumar Beniwal said, "Apart from the exhibitions of various achievements and highlights of Mehsana district, there will be six rallies from six directions of the district which will be reaching the venue on the fast day on Tuesday.

Around 11,000 will fast along with the CM. Nearly 4,500 people will meet the CM on the stage and around 50,000 visitors are expected at the venue."

Meanwhile, Congress leaders have organised a parallel 'Satkarma' fast at Modhera crossroads in a party plot.

Baldevji Thakor, president of district unit of Congress said, "We have been intentionally given permission only for a smaller venue. We are expecting around 10,000 people and we fear that there might be traffic chaos because of small venue. Senior Congress leaders like Patan MP Jagadish Thakor, former MLA Malji Desai, former MP Jivabhai Patel, former CM Shankarsinh Vaghela, who is at the Sardar Sandesh Yatra, will also be joining the fast for some time."
