A mega buyer-seller conclave beginning near here in Goa tomorrow is expected to generate business worth Rs220 crore, the organisers have said.

`GenX Bazaar 2011', organised by Speak Asia, Asia's largest integrated market research agency, will have 60 select exhibitors and 10,000 panelists. The three-day conclave will be held at Baga beach, 25km from here.

Vivek Gautam, chief marketing officer, Speak Asia, said the business estimates of Rs220 crore are at the lower end and the figure may soar.

Exhibitors from automobile, infotech, lifestyle, electronics, consumer durables, fashion, financial services, among other sectors, have arrived with their products, he said.

Several products would be sold across the counter during the bazaar, while some would be delivered at the showrooms after striking deal at the conclave, Gautam said. "Goa will gain from sales tax on the products sold here."

The organisers said that GenX Bazaar is going to show a paradigm shift from retailing to e-tailing.

Goa tourism director Swapnil Naik said the event will boost tourism as nearly 10,000 people are expected for the meet.

"They have booked 5,500 rooms and a large number of cars for the conference which will add to the revenue generation," he added.
