Maoists term police action against Ramdev 'fascist'

Maoists today said the police crackdown on Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and his supporters to end their agitation against corruption was a "fascist" move.

"The crackdown on Baba Ramdev by the Congress government shows its fascist character," a Maoist state committee member said.

Alleging that the UPA government was promoting corruption and black money, he said, "The kingpins of the 2G spectrum scam are going scotfree... The government has taken action against smaller fries as eyewash."

He also alleged that atrocities were being committed in the name of the anti-Maoist operations by the joint forces.
