Maoists kill mukhiya's husband in Bihar

Heavily armed Maoists on Sunday night raided the house of a woman mukhiya and shot dead her husband there in the district, a police official said.

Two dozens armed extremists raided the house and shot dead the mukhiya's husband at the Dharpari panchayat in Deoria police station area, SSP Rajesh Kumar said.

The couple's son was also injured in the incident, he said, adding that the extremists later fled from the spot.

Additional forces have been rushed to the village, Kumar said.
