Maoist blast house of former village head, brother in Bihar

Maoists blasted the house of former village head at Yadunathpur village and torched a house belonging to his brother in Bihar's Rohtas district, police said today.

Nearly twelve extremists raided the village last night and triggered a dynamite blast blowing up the house of former mukhiya Gangeshwar Singh, police said.

They also torched the house of Gangeshwar Singh's brother Maheshwar Singh, the police said adding no body was present at the two houses during the operation.

Both the families were residing elsewhere following threat from naxalites who had on wednesday looted the valuables from the houses and distributed it among the poor.

Raids were on in the area to apprehend the extremists, police added.
