Cop's daughter consumes poison, saved

Hetal Parmar, a 24-year-old resident of Khokhara attempted suicide by consuming poison at her boyfriend's house in Sarjan Tower in Gurukul. Parmar is the daughter of Raman Parmar a PSI in Ahmedabad.

Sources said Hetal took the extreme step as she was feeling insecure about her relation with her boyfriend Tarun Gunjal. Tarun, 25, is a resident of Sarjan Tower and lives with his roommate Mayur Soni.

On Sunday Hetal came to Tarun's place and was told by his friend Mayur that he had gone to help another friend who was moving to a new house.

When Tarun returned in the afternoon, Mayur told him that Hetal was waiting for him in the room. When he went to the room to meet Hetal he found that the door was locked.

When he knocked on the door no one answered his call. He then panicked and broke open the door with the help of his friend. He found Hetal lying unconscious on the floor.

He soon called 108 emergency service. He also informed police about the incident. Hetal was rushed to Sanjeevani Hospital in Vastrapur. At the hospital doctors said that her condition was stable.

Hetal and Tarun met while working at a private company some two years ago.  The families of the duo were aware about their relationship.

A case has been registered with the Ghatlodia police station.Sources said that due to some incident, Hetal felt insecure about her relation with Tarun and took the extreme step.

Laid-off worker hangs self to death

IIn another incident in Ghatlodia police station's jurisdiction, a 25-year-old, resident of  Abhinandan Society  in  KK  Nagar committed suicide by hanging himself.

The victim was identified as Mihir Shah. Sources said that Mihir apparently took the extreme step after losing his job. The incident happened on Sunday evening.

Sources said that Mihir was recently fired from a financial company. He was under stress and was also suffering from depression following the lay off.

Mihir hanged himself with the help of a nylon rope at around 9.30 pm on Sunday.When Mihir's elder brother, Bhavin reached home and knocked on the door nobody responded. Bhavin then broke open the door and found Mihir hanging from the ceiling.

Ghatlodia police is investigating the case.

Tired of loneliness, woman ends life

Ila Doshi, a 71-year-old woman, committed suicide by jumping off the balcony of her seventh floor flat in Paradise Towers in Ambavadi.

Doshi left a suicide note which said she was tired of living alone. The note says nobody should be blamed for her death, but she no longer wanted to live.

Her daughter lives in US, but had visited India about a fortnight back. She was in Mumbai when the incident happened.

Doshi is the former wife of famous writer Tarak Mehta. They divorced about 40 years ago and she married one Manhar Doshi who has also died. Ila Doshi lived in Mumbai but had shifted to Ahmedabad a few years back.

Sources in Ellisbridge police told DNA that Doshi's daughter had come to meet her recently and had even started the process of securing visa for her mother so that she can take her to US along with her.

In her suicide note, Doshi said she was ending her life because she was tired of loneliness and ill health.

Her daughter told DNA, "My mother had heart problems and would also go through bouts of depression. Unable to suffer any longer, she committed suicide."

When contacted, Tarak Mehta said he had no information regarding Doshi's death and had nothing to say on the matter. The police have registered a case of accidental death and began investigation in to the case.
