Man shot dead by miscreants in West Bengal

A 65-year-old man was shot dead by miscreants near Assansol in Burdwan district today, police sources said.

Rabilochan Sinha, a resident of Purulia district had come to his relative's house at Kalyan near Asansol. He was standing at the Kalyanpur bus stand waiting for the bus when some motorcycle riding miscreants fired at him, the sources said.

Police suspect that the miscreants fired at Sinha as he resisted their attempt to snatch his belongings.

The local people put up a road blockade in the area demanding arrest of the culprits.
