Man caught printing fake currency notes at home

A married man started printing currency notes in his home to cope with the rising cost of living and make both ends meet. However, he was caught red handed while trying to deposit the fake notes in his bank account.

Rahul Pandya, 25, a resident of Shivalik apartment in Vejalpur, has a bank account at ICICI Bank's Vejalpur branch on Anandnagar Road near McDonald's Restaurant. On Tuesday morning at 10:30 am, Pandya went to his bank to deposit Rs 15,500. As soon as he presented 31 notes of Rs 500 denomination each, the cashier Nimesh Khaskar immediately sensed that the notes were fake and informed the bank manager about it.

The manager called up Anandnagar police and handed Pandya over to them.

Based on the complaint filed by Khaskar, Anandnagar police registered a case against Pandya. Investigations revealed that Pandya works in Reliance Communication, while his wife is a school teacher.

Police searched his house and found that Pandya was printing money with the help of a computer and printer. In his defence, Pandya told the police that he had started printing fake notes to meet rising expenses of daily life.

Anandnagar police have informed Special Operations Group and handed over the case to them.
