Madrassa teacher exfiltrates to PoK, family already there

A 42-year-old teacher at a Madrassa gave a slip to troops along the Line of Control (LoC) and crossed over to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) from Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir, official sources said today.

A 42-year-old teacher at a Madrassa gave a slip to troops along the Line of Control (LoC) and crossed over to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) from Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir, official sources said today.

Abdul Rasheed of the border village of Kerni crossed over to PoK along the LoC from Kalsian forward belt in Poonch district last night, they said.

Rashid, who was a local priest and teacher in Kerni Madrassa in Poonch for the past 7 to 8 years, also helped militants by guiding them to infiltrate, the sources said.

Rashid's family - wife Aisha Begum and four children: Shahida Parveen, Zahida Parveen, Haroon Rashid and Abdul Wahid - had crossed to PoK last year in May.

A case has been registered in this regard and investigation has started, they said.
