Madras High Court advocates commence indefinite fast

The lawyers told the Registrars of the court that they wanted to know regarding details of the file on usage of Tamil in the proceedings, police said.

A section of the advocates in the Madras High Court bench here commenced an indefinite fast in the court complex today demanding conducting of proceedings in the court in Tamil language.

The lawyers also told the Registrars of the court that they wanted to know regarding details of the file on usage of Tamil in the proceedings, police said.

Though the registrars told the advocates to vacate the premises as there was no permission to observe fast or any other agitation inside the court complex, the lawyers commenced an indefinite fast, police said.
