A police team from Madhya Pradesh has arrived here to investigate in the missing of explosives dispatched from Rajasthan a fortnight ago, police said today.

Nearly 61 trucks loaded with explosives, destined to reach Madhya Pradesh from Rajasthan, had gone missing during
the transit.

Madhya Pradesh police team headed by police sub-inspector Amit Shani has been in Rajkot for last couple of days after primary investigation revealed that draft for purchasing the explosives were sent by one Harkishan Aswani from Rajkot,  police said.

Investigation further revealed that Aswani is licenced to do explosives business and has been associated with a MP-based
couple identified as Shivcharan Heda and his wife Deepa, they
said.

The police team with the help of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Gujarat police searched the godown and office owned by Aswani yesterday but did not find anything objectionable, police said. The team will leave for MP after collecting bank documents, they added.
