Lok Sabha today paid tributes to the 76 securitymen slain by Maoists in Dantewada and 11 Special Operations Group personnel killed in Koraput, saying these attacks were aimed at creating chaos in the country.

Terming the Dantewada massacre as the "deadliest Maoist attack so far", speaker Meira Kumar said the House strongly condemned "these dastardly attacks which are aimed at disturbing peace and creating chaos in the country".

"The Maoists used landmines and improvised explosive devices in this inhuman operation and also looted weapons from the deceased and injured personnel," she said.

Kumar also referred to another extremist attack which claimed the lives of 11 SOG personnel in Koraput district of Orissa.

The House paid homage to Polish president Lech Kaczynski, his wife Maria Kaczynska and members of his government who were killed in a plane crash on April 10.

Describing him as "an outstanding statesman", Kumar said he was "personally committed to promoting good relations between Poland and India".

She also expressed condolences on behalf of the House on the death of the Marshal (speaker) of the Sejm (Polish Parliament), Bronislaw Komorowski, in the crash.

The House expressed grief at the death of over 120 people in the cyclone which hit West Bengal, Bihar and Assam on Tuesday and nine others due to stampede and drowning during the Maha Kumbh in Haridwar.

Lok Sabha also condoled the death of three of its former members -- Shivsaran Verma, Sunderwati Naval Prabhakar and P Rajarethinam -- who passed away recently.
