NSUI supporters continued staging a dharna at the MSU's main office on the fifth day of their agitation against the V-C's alleged saffron bias in context of the students' union elections.

They also met the Joint Commissioner of police, Praveen Sinha, at the Vadodara police headquarters and presented a memorandum demanding that an FIR be lodged against the V-C for the incident in which his car hit a girl, fracturing her leg.

The NSUI supporters maintained the tempo of their agitation on Friday. They kept shouting slogans against the vice-chancellor and sat on dharna for the whole day outside the university main office. V-C Ramesh Goyal has went on leave since Thursday, but the NSUI is continuing its protest. NSUI's vice-presidential candidate for the MSU Students Union, Nikita Gavande, said, "We will come up with various programmes to gear up our agitation. We will not end our agitation till we get justice. In spite of five days of agitation, university officials have not come forward to hold a meeting with us, which itself proves that officials suffer from bias."

Agitators alleged that the V-C was trying to control the agitation with the help of police officials. NSUI leader Preeti Yadav complained to the Joint CP that male police officials pulled away the girls on Wednesday and no women constables were deployed at the dharna site, which was against the norms. In response, two women constables were immediately deployed at the university main office.
