LK Advani attacks union government on price rise

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha LK Advani today attacked the union governement on the issue of food price inflation.

"Not only poor, but middle class people of the country are also facing the severe rise in prices. Had anybody imagined that price of dal will shoot up like this ?," Advani asked while speaking to reporters here after attending a meeting of Somnath temple trust.

"Food inflation here has nothing to do with international economic situation," Advani observed.
      
This inflation is due to excessive spending by the Union Government before the last year's general elections, he said adding that this was also discussed in the parliament recently.
       
Meanwhile, Advani refused to comment on the issue of bifurcation of states that has surfaced in the wake of Telangana crisis.
