The CPI-M today said the West Bengal government had done what was necessary for the release of the kidnapped police officer Atindranath Dutta, but accused the abductors of having no human face as demonstrated by cold-blooded killings.

Bose, Left Front chairman, said the state government did not oppose the bail plea of 15 women arrested by the joint forces.

"It is a matter relating to the administration. I cannot say anything specifically. The administration has done whatever was necessary and whatever they deemed fit," Bose said when asked about the women's release.

Bose, also a party politburo member, told reporters before leaving for Delhi that 50% of the people killed by left wing extremists were advasis and members of the Scheduled Castes which show that "they do not have a human face".

Bose also accused the Trinamool Congress of having links with the Maoists.

"The two outfits were instigating people to burn down houses of CPI(M) activists after promising them to build houses for them as reward for vandalism," Bose alleged.

Bose had yesterday said the West Bengal government should take the initiative to secure the release of Dutta.

Referring to the kidnap a few months ago of two other policemen, Sabir Mollah and Kanchan Garai, Bose had asked the state government to secure their release also.
