Law firm wins international award in London

A city-based law firm dealing in intellectual property rights has won international recognition for its efforts in the filed. Y J Trivedi & Co, which specialises in intellectual property rights and patent related issues, emerged as the 'Highly Commended Law Firm of the Year' in the Asia Pacific region at the 2009 World Leaders International IP Awards. 

It is the only Indian law firm to receive the recognition this year under any category of the awards. The award distribution ceremony took place last week at Vinopolis in London. The event was attended by renowned IP practitioners from all over the world.

The winners were selected through online voting open for all in the industry.  The awards were instituted by the publishers of Trademark World, Patent World and Copyright World and the 2009 awards was the sixth edition of the same.

This year, the awards witnessed the highest number of voting from the industry implying the awards are gaining popularity and getting acknowledged as true recognition in the industry. YJ Trivedi is a practising lawyer in the Gujarat high court and in different high courts all over India. He also practices in the Supreme Court of India.
