KPS Gill favours use of air power against Naxals

'Super Cop' KPS Gill credited with suppressing militancy in Punjab today said he was in favour of using Air Force in operations against naxals.

The former state DGP alleged that both the Centre and the state governments were responsible for the spread of Naxalism in several states.

Prevailing corruption and unemployment had disappointed the youths and Naxalism was one of the fall-outs of their depression, he told reporters here.

The Union Government should find out some solution at the earliest, he said adding he favoured use of air power in tackling the menace.

To a question he said though he supported the stance of Haryanvi Khaps that no marriage should be performed in the same gotra, community leaders should be aware that they were not above the law.
