On the second day of International Kite Festival on Wednesday, the participants were hugely disappointed in the afternoon when poor wind did not allow them to showcase their flying skills. Many of the participants were seen sitting or relaxing at their counters and those gathered at the riverfront to watch colourful kites were also disappointed.

Tan Juan Chew from Singapore said, “In the morning, the wind was good when we flew many kinds of kites. We have brought train gummy bear kites this year for this festival.” The series of colourful gummy bear kites ruled the skies in the morning, attracting many eyeballs.

Echoing similar view, Bert Maetens from Belgium who has brought a device for kite aerial photography said, “The kite just isn’t taking the weight of the camera and isn’t even flying high right now, which flew excellently high in the morning. The wind isn’t enough due to which my camera won’t fly.”

“The situation was much better on Tuesday, when our kites flew best,” said Simon Chisnall from New Zealand, who has brought the largest kite to this festival. When kites did not take off, those gathered to watch them thronged the food court.
