Former chief minister and veteran BJP leader Keshubhai Patel met slain BJP leader Haren Pandya's wife, Jagruti Pandya, on Wednesday evening. He discussed with her the recent developments in Pandya murder case.

The meeting assumes significance as Jagruti, seeking justice to nail the real culprits in her husband's murder, has sought help from chief minister Narendra Modi and veteran BJP leader LK Advani.

Keshubhai returned recently from the USA and met Jagruti at her residence in Paldi. Jagruti said, "Keshubhai had come to meet me and we discussed the latest developments in Pandya case following the high court order acquitting all the accused in the case."

Haren Pandya was junior home minister in the Keshubhai government and shared excellent rapport with Keshubhai. Modi became chief minister in 2001 replacing Keshubhai. At that time, Modi and Keshubhai were not on good terms.

Jagruti had tried to meet Modi during his Sadbhavna Mission but police officials stopped her. After that, she met Advani in New Delhi. The Modi government also protested Jagruti's petition before high court seeking a re-probe into the case.
