Kerala Congress(B) flays CPI(M) stand over Mullaperiyar Dam issue

Kerala Congress (B)leader R Balakrishnan Pillai today flayed the CPI(M) central leadership for not supporting the state's stand on Mullaperiyar Dam issue.

The CPI(M) was taking different stand at the state level and the national level on the issue which was disappointing, he told reporters here.

The former minister dismissed suggestions that the Idduki Dam could contain flood waters of Mullaperiyar, describing it as a 'nonsensical concept'.

To a question, Pillai said the UDF Government will construct the dam before the next calender year.
