A group of protesting Kashmiri Pandits stormed a seminar, ‘Azaadi — The only Way’, in New Delhi on Thursday and created ruckus. Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani, writer and Maoist sympathiser Arundhati Roy and parliament attack accused SAR Geelani were speakers at the event.

Addressing the gathering, Syed Geelani gave a clarion call to Kashmiris to boycott the three-member team of interlocutors appointed by the Centre to talk to all sections of the Jammu and Kashmiri society to bring peace to the state.

Interestingly, the home ministry seemed unconcerned about the gathering of separatists. “Had we prevented the seminar, all of you would have accused the government of human rights violation. But it is good someone has protested,” a senior ministry official said.

Meanwhile, the interlocutors led by journalist Dileep Padgaonkar met prime minister Manmohan Singh. They will go to Kashmir on the 26th.
