Karnataka government today granted 50% exemption in entertainment tax to Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Hindi film Paa considering the social theme it depicts.

The concession was extented following a plea by Reliance Big Pictures, the producers of the movie whose story revolves around struggle faced by parents of a progeria-afflicted child, an official release said here.

Bachchan plays the role of the progeria-affected child and his son Abhishek is in his father's role.

Gujarat government had recently given total exemption of entertainment tax on the movie after Bachchan met chief minister Narendra Modi with a request to the effect.
