2G scam: JPC report to be submitted before monsoon session

The joint parliamentary committee chairman PC Chacko said that the first sitting of the JPC will be held before the end of the current session of Parliament. The monsoon session of Parliament will commence in July, he added.

The joint parliamentary committee (JPC) set up to probe the second generation mobile spectrum allocation scam will submit its report before the commencement of the monsoon session of Parliament, its chairman PC Chacko said today.

Chacko told Press Trust of India that the first sitting of the JPC will be held before the end of the current session of Parliament. The monsoon session of Parliament will commence in July, he added.

On whether Prime Manmohan Singh would be summoned before the JPC, Chacko said it would be decided only after the matter was discussed by the committee.

The prime minister had stated that he was ready to appear before the JPC even before its constitution, Chacko said.
