Joint Indo-Bangla survey for setting up water treatment plant

A joint team of engineers of India and neighbouring Bangladesh has started conducting survey regarding setting up of a water treatment plant and water lifting pumps along the Indo-Bangla border in Sabroom sub-division of South Tripura district, official sources said today.
   
Sources said, a 14-member team, including eight from Bangladesh and six from India, began the survey yesterday on the bank of River Feni.
   
This survey was the follow up of the meeting between a delegation of engineers led by chief engineer (Drinking Water) of Tripura and a delegation led by executive engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board on February 8 at Sabroom.
   
Both sides agreed to sharing of water of river Feni by the farmers of both the countries and setting up of a 6.5 lakh gallon drinking water treatment project and water lifting pumps in Sabroom.
