In a crime of passion, a lover stabbed to death his beloved after she refused to continue their relation. Darshna Mistry (25), the receptionist of Satyam Supratech Micropath Laboratory in Ravish Complex near Maninagar Cross Roads was killed by Azam Shaikh (27), early in the morning on Saturday.  Shaikh worked in the same laboratory. Both were alone when the incident happened.

Police sources said Shaikh stabbed Darshana in the neck and stomach and he was injured in the scuffle.  "He brought the knife with him and had been looking for a chance to kill Darshana for the last two days," senior police inspector, Maninagar police station, DA Desai told DNA

Desai said Shaikh was infuriated over the fact that Darshana wanted to discontinue their relation. He said Shaikh was in love with Darshana and wanted to have a relation with her. Chetan Mistry, the cousin of Darshana, has filed a complaint with the Maninagar police.

Mistry in his complaint said that Shaikh had been harassing his sister for long and the latter was warned to stay away from her.

"The incident occurred early in the morning at around 8 am, when Darshana and Shaikh were alone in the laboratory," a police source said.  A source also said that Darshana was smothered by Shaikh with his handkerchief before being stabbed. After killing Darshana, Shaikh himself called the doctor of the pathology, Jaydeep Shah and told him about the incident.
