A day after the Allahabad high court directed officials to clear railway tracks and national highways, Jats demanding reservation in central government jobs today cleared the tracks, allowing movement of trains.

Jat leaders are also going to Delhi for another round of talks with the home minister.

President of the All India Jat Aarakshan Samiti Yashpal Malik said, "We have decided to allow movement of trains following yesterday's Allahabad high court order.We have removed tents from the tracks. However, our agitation is continuing.

"We will resume our agitation on the tracks if our demands are not met," he said, adding, "We have been invited for talks by the home minister today and we are on way to Delhi".

Following the Allahabad high court order, a heavy deployment of force was made in areas where the jats had occupied railway tracks.

Jat protesters removed their belongings from the railway tracks after witnessing the heavy deployment of forces, police sources said.

Taking suo motu cognisance of the public inconvenience caused by the ongoing Jat agitation, the court had yesterday directed officials of the state and central governments concerned to clear railway tracks and national highways blocked due to the stir over quota issue.

The court directed Union home secretary, chairman Railway Board and state principal secretary home and DGP to get the railway tracks and national highways cleared.

Jat leaders had earlier held talks with home minister P Chidambaram and social justice minister Mukul Wasnik on March 16.

Jats have been agitating for over a week in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana demanding reservation in central government jobs under the OBC category.
