Jamalpur area in Ahmedabad zooms past CG Road in realty

Located in the heart of the city, Jamalpur has, of late, witnessed a surge in property (land) rates ranging from Rs8,000 per sq yard to Rs1.20 lakh per sq yard. An average land deal is generally sealed for around Rs80,000 per sq yard.

Going by popular sentiments, CG Road is considered to be one of the costliest areas of the city. And though this area, along with SG Highway, has remained in the thick of recent realty deals because of booming property prices,  Jamalpur beats them hands down when land rates are calculated per square yard.

Located in the heart of the city, Jamalpur has, of late, witnessed a surge in property (land) rates ranging from Rs8,000 per sq yard to Rs1.20 lakh per sq yard. An average land deal is generally sealed for around Rs80,000 per sq yard.

Whereas, some land agreements are reached for as high as Rs1 lakh and go up to Rs1.20 lakh per sq yard. These rates are higher in comparison to land prices on CG Road, where only recently two plots were sold for around Rs1 lakh per sq yard.

CG Road and Jamalpur are markedly different in the sense that the former is a central business district and latter an area which still lacks proper basic civic amenities. But various socio-cultural factors have played a vital role in this minority-dominated area in determining the booming realty market. 

Realty property in almost all the minority-dominated areas of the city has witnessed a rise as compared to other areas. However, property prices in Jamalpur are higher compared to other minority areas such as Dariapur, Kalupur and Shahpur.
