Jaipur blast accused sent to judicial custody

An accused in the 2008 Jaipur bomb blast case was today remanded to 15-day judicial custody by a local court where he was produced by Rajasthan's Anti-Terror Squad (ATS).

An accused in the 2008 Jaipur bomb blast case was today remanded to 15-day judicial custody by a local court where he was produced by Rajasthan's Anti-Terror Squad (ATS).

"We produced Salman in the court of additional chief judicial magistrate which remanded him to custody for identification parade. After the parade, we will seek his police custody for interrogation," ATS ASP Satyendra Singh told PTI.

Salman, who was lodged in Tihar Jail, was arrested by the ATS yesterday after a court granted permission for the same on production warrant.

Singh said Salman was involved in planting the bombs on May 13, 2008. Four of the 11 accused in the case -Shahbaz, Sarwar, Saif and Saifur - have been arrested.

According to Singh, two other accused Atif and Chota Sazid were killed in Batla house encounter while the rest four Arif, Khalid, Aariz and Bada Sazid are absconding.
