J&K government regularises refugee colonies in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir government today regularised several colonies of the refugees of 1947, 1969 and 1971 in Jammu district.

Jammu and Kashmir government today regularised several colonies of the refugees of 1947, 1969 and 1971 in Jammu district by granting their land rights under Common Land Regularization Act, 1956.
   
"In a historic step to give justice to these refugees, we have given land rights to refugees of Gaddigarh and Bhour camp in Jammu city today," Jammu and Kashmir minister for revenue, relief and rehabilitation Raman Bhalla said in a function organised here this evening. "It was Deepawali gift to the refugees, who have been fighting from pillar to post decades," Bhalla said.
   
He said that the coalition government is making tireless efforts to regularise other colonies in the state by providing all basic amenities to people.
