An ISRO scientist died of cardiac arrest today while delivering lecture during a regional conference at the Kashmir University in Srinagar, officials said.

Professor SK Pathan, who was also vice-president of Indian Society of Geomatics, suffered a massive heart attack as he was delivering presidential address at the University's Gandhi Bhawan at Hazratbal, they said.

Pathan, who hailed from Ahmedabad in Gujarat, was shifted to SKIMS hospital at Soura where doctors declared him brought dead.

The body was handed over to police so that formalities could be done to send it to his hometown.

Pathan was a group director at the Ahmedabad Space Application Centre (SAC) of ISRO.

The two-day conference is being organised by University of Kashmir in collaboration with the Indian Society of Geomatics.
